"... wondered whether you would be interested in some copies from my parent’s old albums for the ABL.   From my Step-Grandmother’s time in Mandalay where she was teacher training. My Grandmother was called Mary Margaret Harvey and her close friend was Ruby Cowell who were both Anglo Burmese and emigrated to England in the 40’s and early 50’s.  Ruby Cowell came from Mogok, where her father Richard Henry Cowell was a manager of a Ruby Mine, hence the name, her mother was Burmese lady called Mah Aung.  ‘Aunty' Ruby became my God Mother.  I have added the names that I know, but some of these people are unknown.  There are also two photos from my parent’s schools;  My Mother, Helen Tresham attended Kalaw Convent and my Father, Dennis Francis attended the GEHS in Maymyo."
